What is the Destination Travel Care story– how it came to be and the mission statement/mottos that guide everyday business?
We are a private, small agency that prides itself on treating its employees (external and internal) the way you would a family. Our parent company has been in the staffing business (in other industries) for 30+ years. Destination Travelcare was established earlier this year by a small team of people that all come from different backgrounds but have one common goal: to create a company that is focused on the travelers experience.
What should travelers know about Destination Travel Care?
The name “Destination Travelcare” came from the mindset that we view our travelers as highly skilled healthcare professionals. They are the talent that hospitals need. We call our recruiters Travelcare Agents because we take managing our travelers’ careers very seriously. And last, we hope that our travelers will find that they want our agency to be their final destination in their travel careers.
Our internal team has been structured in a way that we believe better supports the career of our traveling professionals. We feel that our relationships and the effort that we put in to support our travelers is what really makes us stand out.
What is the team culture like at Destination Travel Care?
There is no “that’s not my job” mentality. Our entire team takes ownership of whatever comes up and follows through. I put this statement out there boldly so that we will all hold ourselves and each other accountable for making sure our travelers are successful in their careers.
How does the leadership at Destination Travel Care define success for the employees as well as success for the travelers?
I believe that we hold our team to a very high standard. We view our travelers as the most talented healthcare professionals and expect our entire team to treat them as such. The more travelers we can help, the more patients we can help. I realize a lot of companies say that, but we really mean that. If you don’t get asked how your patients are doing by at least one person on our team, I want to know about it! Haha!
What are the hopes for the Destination Travel Care/Wanderly partnership in 2020/2021?
Our goal is to be on the “digital front lines” making it easy for travelers to find us! We want to grow with you!!! Our ideal partnership is one that works with the progress and not against it. Be open to feedback and communicate and we will do the same!
What myths about the travel healthcare industry would Destination Travel Care want to correct for someone considering taking an assignment?
I don’t really know how to answer this question, per se. I believe there are naysayers everywhere. We encourage you to shop around but we believe we offer the best benefits, service, and consistently higher pay packages. & we have no desire to change our ways. I believe that consistency is what builds strong relationships and we plan to stay consistent with what we offer and how we offer it!
What gives the team at Destination Travel Care the feeling of purpose in the day-to-day?
Traveler feedback! When our travelers send us messages like “you guys are doing everything right” or “finally, an agency that fights for their travelers” and “I had the best experience on-boarding” we know we are doing something right! Helping people reach their potential professionally and personally is what drives us to do what we do!
What are the plans for the future of Destination Travel Care? What is planned for 2020?
We plan to stay a small team focused on intimate relationships with our travelers. We have gone from 5 travelers to 30 in a matter of 8 months and we attribute that success to referrals from our travelers. Our current travelers are referring all of their friends because of their own experiences with us and that is the highest compliment. In 2020 we plan to continue to focus on the travelers experience so that they want to continue to help us grow! In business, there is no greater compliment than a referral from a current client!
