Will be assigned to a Medical-Surgical/Acute Care unit within PRMC, with potential to float to other Acute-Care settings within the facility. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, assist with 100 pounds. Lifting requirements may be heavier for specified departments. varying levels of acuity depending on the patient’s phase of recovery.

Equipment utilized: Epic charting system. Pyxis medication dispensation machine. Abbott Plum A IV pumps. Phillips monitors – basic for acute care, advanced for progressive and ICU. Each room is equipped with in room patient lifts. Department Specific All contract staff attend an abbreviated Jump Start new hire orientation. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8-5(ish) then 1 12 hour orientation shift at their contract shift time on their assigned floor to round out their 36 hours for week 1. During new hire orientation they will learn Epic, be given access to AccuCheck for bedside blood sugars, blood administration, medication administration including narcotic standards, standards of care, and employee / patient safety information, including how to use bedside lifts. All contract staff are required to complete basic computerized learning modules during orientation.
