The County
of San Diego is seeking a dynamic leader with a passion for building healthy
communities. This is a unique opportunity for a qualified individual to work
for a Level 3 Public Health Laboratory. The Public Health Services department,
in the County’s Health and Human Services Agency is a local health department
nationally accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board and first of the
urban health departments to be accredited.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess the following:
1. A Clinical Laboratory Director license issued by the State of California
before employment; AND
2. A valid license to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of
California before employment; AND,
3. Certification in anatomic or clinical pathology, or both, by the American
Board of Pathology or the American Osteopathic Board of Pathology.
4. A doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical
laboratory science. Candidates who, before February 24, 2003, have served or
are currently serving as a director of a laboratory performing high-complexity
testing, will be considered as meeting the qualifications.
Compensation:
Anticipated Hiring Range: $160,000 to $175,000 Annually, Depending on
Qualifications
