Modules are required to be done before start of assignment. Modules take on average 6 hours to complete.

Unit ED Holds (Tele RN) ***THIS POSITION IS ED HOLDS. The right candidate will have a strong Tele background-they will care for patients just released from the ER that are waiting on a bed*** # beds 31 plus hallway Certs BLS, ALCS, NIHSS Ratios 4:1 EMR Cerner Charge Nurse Yes, NSM Nurse Aides ED techs on the floor Weekend Requirement EOW Holidays Yes, rotate in with core staff Scrub Color Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy. Tele Yes, depending on location, however must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. Vents No Hospitalist or Intensivist in house Yes, both IV Team Yes RT 24/7 Yes Pharmacy 24/7 Yes Shifts 12s 0645 and 1845 start times. Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts are available. Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves "available" for extra shifts and make trades with other staff. Block scheduling is generally not available. Floating Yes, to all other Sacramento facilities. Could also float to other tele and MedSurg floors within the facility Floor specific orientation Yes, at CLC (general orientation) and with unit educator Common diagnosis / Types of patients General ED admissions Additional Notes Staff for admitted patients holding in the ED, most will likely be medical patients with no tele in our hallway holding area
