Facility Info

ed-Tele at St. Clare is a 38 bed unit with an exciting medical/surgical population including cardiac, post-surgical, sepsis, pneumonia, diabetic, palliative care and chronic heart failure patients.  Our registered nurses have an RN to patient ratio goal of 4:1, with 3 CNAs. We have a total of 100 team members that include RNs, an RN Educator and care assistants.  Our nurses work 12-hour shifts from 7 am to 7:30 pm or 7 pm to 7:30 am.  We offer new nursing residencies and our nursing staff is a positive mix of experienced and novice nurses working together.  The managers of this unit promote a team atmosphere and pride themselves on the teamwork in their unit.  All contingent workers are encouraged to attend and/or participate in any teambuilding or morale boosting events in the facility.  There are multiple Daisy Award winners assigned to this unit, many of their RN’s have been certified in Medical Surgical nursing and this unit has won the “Best Dance Team” award 3 years in a row during the facility’s Summer Games/Picnic.   

·         Ratios: 4 to 5:1 with C.N.A support

·         Charge nurses are staffed 24 hours per day

·         Lab Techs are on staff for blood draws with the exception of Central Lines

·         Highly collegial and team-oriented staff members

Job Summary:    

As a Med-Tele Nurse on our team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include things such as the following:

·         Staying informed to latest best practice and to policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards.

·         Administering, overseeing and documenting the administration of medications.

  • Gathering data and performing professional nursing assessments for patient care. Implementing appropriate patient interventions and evaluating outcomes. Providing holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care. 
  • Demonstrating your commitment to competent professional practice and engaging in opportunities for your own professional growth.
  • Documenting care delivered and your patient's status. 
  • Identifying opportunities for, and participating in, performance and quality improvement activities to improve clinical outcomes, healthcare delivery systems and address patient safety and satisfaction. 
  • Providing health care education and guidance to your patients and families.
