PACU nurses work within a post-anesthesia care unit (formerly known as the recovery room), where patients are cared for and monitored as they recover from the effects of anesthesia. PACU nurse responsibilities include all aspects of patient care following surgery. This care includes monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and respiration, as well as managing the pain and nausea that often follow anesthesia.

• Nursing ratios depends on what phase of recovery patient is in and type of procedure according to ASPAN standards. • Nurses on the unit will Pre op and post op for the night and weekend shifts. •
• This is a very fast paced unit, candidate must be able to multi-task with multiple patients. Frequent holding of post op patients overnight when rooms aren’t available. •
• The shifts would be 2 twelve ( 7p-7a) every other weekend and 2 eights ( 11p-7a) during week to total 40hr work week
We are a Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), also known as a “special care nursery,” provides healthcare for moderately ill infants.
It is a higher level of care for infants who are born as early as 32 weeks, and can provide many necessary services for these babies, such as continuous cardio-respiratory monitoring, mechanical ventilation for up to 24 hours, IV antibiotics and fluids, portable X-ray capability and many other enhanced medical services.
Babies who are born prematurely (at 32 to 37 weeks), who are recovering from an illness or who have been discharged from a higher-level NICU are offered skilled, compassionate care. Parents have unlimited visits with their new family member.
