Job Description

Duties:

• Uses the nursing process to care for the number of patients per unit ratio of varying medical complexity. 

• Evaluates patient progress and revises plan of care accordingly.  Develops therapeutic relationships with patients and families that enable them to assist in planning and participating in patient care.

• Assesses the discharge needs of patients and families, and assists with the development and communication of discharge plans.

• Keeps unit leadership informed of any difficulties in delivering care.  Delegates patient care to other team members as necessary to assure appropriate and continuous care.

• Completes patient documentation according to CHLA policies and procedures.

• Demonstrates behaviors that support performance improvement.

• Maintains licensing and certifications.  

Equipment:  Ventilators, Monitoring Equipment, BP Machine, IV pumps, Syringe Pumps, BG Monitor, TDS, PC, Oxygen and Aerosols, Pyxis, Medical Gas Cylinders.

Level I

30 beds, 4 potential trauma beds.  Will be 35 beds and 4 potential trauma beds the facility.  71,400 visits per year.  

Facility is looking for 2 RNs to serve as an advanced beginner registered nurse, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. 

RNs to collaborate with other health care team members in the delivery of care. RN is expected to follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
