Job Description

3VPS is Cardiac Services Progressive Care Unit: 24 bed step-down unit, caring for s/p cabg, thoracic and vascular surgery patients and other general surgery patients requiring step-down care. As the primary unit designated to care for Post CAG, AMI and Post PCI patients with stents, critical drips and CHF, we strive for excellence in cardiac and surgical care. To best support the progressive care of these patients we have 6 beds where the ratio is 1:3. We believe in supporting the growth of our nursing staff and provide intensive education in the form of a “Cardiac College”. This mentorship provides didactic and clinical observation experience guided by your preceptor and clinical educators to allow nurses to acquire critical care skills that may be used on the Progressive Care unit. This also positions the staff to attain crucial experience that promotes a smooth transition to the CSICU if that is a professional goal.

Unit Description

Job Summary Plans and implements professional nursing care for patients in accordance with hospital policies. Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned. Job Qualifications Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure. Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program
