Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and a passion for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the CVICU, maintaining a patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2. Utilize advanced nursing skills, including IV starts, tele monitoring, ventilator management, and administering conscious sedation. Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiovascular conditions using specialized equipment such as Swanz catheters, balloon pumps, and PA lines. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed. Participate in unit-based initiatives for quality improvement and patient safety. Schedule This position requires night shifts, with a schedule of 36 hours per week, consisting of three 12-hour shifts. Weekend shifts will be required, with a maximum of six weekend shifts per four-week schedule period. Rotating holidays may also be part of the schedule. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse license. 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) preferred. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required. Experience with Epic electronic health records is required. Prior travel nursing experience is preferred. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work under pressure.
