Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) to join our team. In this role, you will provide critical care to patients with heart and vascular conditions and contribute significantly to their recovery process. Job Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the CVICU. Monitor and assess patient status, responding to changes in condition. Administer medications and treatments per physician orders. Utilize advanced equipment and technology to support patient care, including telemetry and ventilators. Assist with procedures such as the insertion of PA lines and the use of balloon pumps. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient treatment. Educate patients and families regarding health care needs and treatments. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (preferred). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required. Proficient in skills including IV starts, monitoring telemetry, ventilator management, and conscious sedation. Experience with Swanz catheter management is preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically Epic. Previous travel nursing experience is advantageous. Work Schedule: This position requires working Weekdays and some weekends, with rotating holidays. The nurse will float within units of equivalent or lower acuity levels as needed. Patient Ratios: The estimated patient ratios in the CVICU setting are 1:1 to 1:2, allowing for focused and individualized patient care.
