Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our CardiacVascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to critically ill patients recovering from cardiac procedures and surgeries. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient health needs. Monitor patients' conditions and maintain accurate records of vital signs and medication administration. Administer medication and treatments as prescribed while ensuring patient safety. Utilize advanced equipment and technology, including telemetry, ventilators, SwanGanz catheters, and balloon pumps. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care. Participate in patient education and provide emotional support to patients and families. Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as required. Qualifications Current RN licensure with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Intensive Care setting preferred. Proficient in BLS and ACLS certifications. Strong skills in IV starts, monitoring telemetry, and managing patients on ventilators. Experience with conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines. Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically Epic. Previous travel nursing experience is a plus. Scheduling Information This position requires a commitment to a rotating schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week, with weekday and weekend shifts. Weekend rotation may include up to six shifts per four-week scheduling period, including Saturday and Sunday for day shifts and Friday and Saturday for night shifts. Holiday coverage is also expected. Patient Ratios The estimated patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:1 to 1:2, ensuring comprehensive care for each patient in the unit.
