Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU Job Description We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a position in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This role requires a dedicated and skilled professional to provide high-quality care to critically ill patients with cardiac conditions. Key Responsibilities Deliver patient-centered care in the CVICU, maintaining high standards of practice. Provide continuous monitoring and assessment of patients' conditions. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Utilize advanced medical equipment and technologies, including ventilators, Swan-Ganz catheters, and balloon pumps. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement comprehensive care plans. Educate patients and families on health management and disease prevention. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols. Float to other units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (preferred). Current BLS and ACLS certification required. Competence in IV starts, telemetry, conscious sedation, and knowledge of advanced cardiac monitoring. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically EPIC. Previous travel nursing experience is preferred. Schedule This position involves night shifts (3x12 hours) with a schedule that includes weekdays and some weekends, along with rotating holidays. There may be up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period. Parking Information Parking options include monthly permits with 24/7 access to designated garage areas. Annual payment is required for some permits. WMC Permit: Monthly access to the parking garage. WB Permit: 24/7 access with a yearly fee. CXS Permit: Similar access with an annual fee. Prorated refunds may be available for unused future months on annual permits. Current and prior months are non-refundable.
