Registered Nurse - CVICU (Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care) Scheduling Details Shift Hours: 7 PM - 7 AM Contract Length: 13 weeks Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed Locals Accepted? Radius Rule: RNs within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted. Charting EPIC experience required Requests for time off, block and special scheduling must be submitted upon application Call Off Policy: The facility may cancel (call off) up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges. Required License/Certifications Active New York Single State RN license required (NY is not Compact) Valid ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications must be included Required Clinical Skills Arterial line management and central/PICC line care Blood product administration Ventilator management and HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP support Assisting with chest tube insertion/removal Management of patients with emergency medications and procedural sedation Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips Experience with CABG, Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, Swan-Ganz monitoring Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation 12-lead EKG acquisition and infection prevention practices PPE use, wound vac care, and care of patients with multi-system organ dysfunction/failure Unit Details Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2; Impella nurse ratio 1:2 with occasional 1:1 based on acuity 16 beds that treat patients with: sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest, respiratory failure/shock Dress Code Scrub Color: Any combination of navy blue and white Floating Requirements Will be required to float within skillset as necessary. The unit features 24/7 provider coverage, a collaborative multidisciplinary team, and strong support for family communication and post-operative rehabilitation.
