Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (RN) Position Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room is responsible for planning and providing comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs while also guiding patient education and managing the activities of ancillary personnel, all while maintaining professional nursing standards. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current Iowa RN license Required Certifications: BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) Experience preferred, but not required Hours Schedule consists of shifts from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Availability for holiday coverage is required. Employment & Health Requirements Prior to the contract start date, the following documentation must be provided: Resume Two recent employment references Online verification of licensure or certification including expiration date and any disciplinary actions All copies of required certifications (BLS, ACLS through American Heart Association, PALS, TNCC) Immunization records for: MMR (Mumps, Rubeola & Rubella) either 2 doses or positive titers Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines Polio Hepatitis B Series, titer or signed declination Current TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) dated within 10 years Flu vaccination during Flu Season (October 1 - March 31) Negative 2-step Mantoux test within 1 year or QuantiFERON Gold test Proof of physical within 1 year 10 Panel drug screen within 1 month Respiratory Fit Test within 1 year (may be provided if needed) Criminal background check from all states where licenses have been held and where applicant has lived/worked in the past 7 years National and/or State Sex Offender check GSA (EPLS) Sam.gov within 30 days of start date OIG report within 30 days of start date Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Completion of CareLearning education modules (instructions will be provided) Potential candidates are encouraged to review these requirements closely to ensure all documentation is prepared before the contract start date.
