Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency care and be capable of managing diverse patient needs in a fast-paced environment. Required Qualifications Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center Traveler Experience: First-time travelers accepted Local Candidates: Not accepted; must reside more than 50 miles away Skills: General Emergency Department care (Adult/Pediatric) Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure Central line care and management Phlebotomy and starting IVs Administration of blood products and continuous IV sedation Management of IV vasopressors Experience with cerebrovascular accidents (CVA), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, ortho-trauma, and abdominal pain Care for conditions including asthma, burns, epiglottitis, head injury, hyperglycemia, infections, mental/behavioral health conditions, respiratory infections, and urinary tract infections Care for ventilated patients and management of trauma cases, including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations Skill in identifying and reporting abuse Certifications: ACLS BLS NIHSS PALS TNCC Preferred Qualifications Certification in CPI Certification in TCAR Work Details Shift: Nights; options for 36 or 48 hours per week Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends within a 4-week posted schedule) Patient Ratio Experience Required: 1:5 Unit Systems Familiarity with medication, documentation, and communication systems such as EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR is preferred. Orientation New hires will undergo a 24-hour orientation to ensure seamless integration into our emergency department.
