Job Opportunity Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care Float Pool. This role involves working night shifts (3x12 hours) and requires flexibility to float between various Intensive Care Units based on staffing and patient acuity. The nurse will support units including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, and CVICU. Key Responsibilities Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as required. Deliver high-quality critical care to patients across multiple specialties. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Monitor and manage IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care. Administer emergency medications and ensure effective procedural sedation. Perform and interpret various diagnostic tests including arterial blood gases (ABGs) and electrocardiograms (ECGs). Provide care to patients requiring advanced interventions such as ventilation management and chest tube insertion/removal. Qualifications A minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required. Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are mandatory. Proficiency in using EPIC or similar electronic health record systems is required. Experience with IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management is essential. Previous travel nursing experience is strongly preferred. Shift Details Night shifts: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Every other weekend coverage is expected. Patient Care and Environment This position serves adult patients, with a daily census of over 900. Nurses will float across various ICUs, providing care to patients with diverse medical conditions.
