Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse Schedule This position involves a rotating schedule of 3x12 hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per week. Shifts alternate every four weeks between day and night schedules. Patient Ratios The estimated patient care ratio is 1:1 to 1:2. Experience Required Applicants must possess a minimum of two years of experience in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). Essential Qualifications EPIC experience is required. Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and AHA are mandatory. Skills Required Proficient in IV starts. Experience with telemetry monitoring. Competency with ventilators. Preferred Qualifications Previous travel nursing experience is advantageous. Proficiency in the EPIC documentation system is preferred. Specialized Experience Candidates with experience in the following areas will be considered favorably: Multisystem Organ Failure Respiratory Failure COVID Sepsis Post-Cardiac Arrest Care Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) Liver Failure Renal Failure Special Procedures/Unit Details Continuous Glucose Monitoring for Hyperglycemia management. Externalized IV Pumps specifically for COVID+ patients.
