MICU Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). This position involves providing high-quality care to critically ill patients, focusing on complex medical issues and advanced treatment modalities. Job Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to adults and geriatric patients with complex diagnoses. Monitor patient conditions and vital signs, implementing appropriate interventions as necessary. Administer medications and oversee complex medication regimens and chemotherapy. Utilize advanced medical equipment, including mechanical ventilation and arterial pressure monitoring. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes. Participate in clinical trials and deliver patient education as part of ongoing care. Perform procedures such as pulmonary artery catheter placement, central venous catheter insertion, and CRRT. Maintain accurate and timely computerized documentation using EPIC. Qualifications Current RN licensure. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU or MICU setting. Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH. Proficient in managing ventilators and initiating IV starts. Shift and Scheduling This position requires rotating shifts, including days, nights, or a combination of both, based on departmental needs. Shift assignments will be reviewed every four-week scheduling period, acknowledging that changes are not guaranteed. Parking Information Parking is available with several permit options. Staff may consider the closest available options with guaranteed garage access or lower-cost alternatives. Refunds for unused future months on annual permits may be available, subject to policy guidelines.
