MICU Registered Nurse (RN) We are seeking a dedicated and skilled MICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience and will be proficient in managing critically ill patients in a high-acuity setting. Job Summary This position involves rotating day and night shifts based on departmental needs. Shift assignments will be reviewed every four weeks, though changes are contingent on staffing priorities. Patient Population Adults Geriatrics Common Patient Diagnoses Patients may present with a variety of serious conditions, including but not limited to: Oncologic Emergencies Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Pneumonia Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) Gastrointestinal Bleed Neuromuscular Disease Drug Overdose Consequences of Oncologic Treatment Pulmonary Hypertension Autoimmune Disorders Sepsis Special Procedures and Unit Details The MICU specializes in the care of hemodynamically compromised patients, utilizing advanced medical techniques such as: Mechanical Ventilation Pulmonary Artery Catheter Placement Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Arterial Pressure Monitoring Cardiac Monitoring Chest Tubes Central Venous Catheters Chemotherapy Administration Complex Medication Regimens Clinical Trials and Plasmapheresis Many patients may also require bronchoscopy or endoscopy procedures due to underlying pulmonary and gastrointestinal conditions. Required Certifications Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Basic Life Support (BLS) National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Skills Required Ventilator Management IV Starts Charting Protocol Experience with computerized charting, specifically with the EPIC system, is required for this role.
