Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse to join our team. This role requires a minimum of two years of medical ICU experience and proficiency in the EPIC documentation system. Schedule 3x12 Hour Shifts (36 Hours) Rotating schedule: every 4 weeks or 4 weeks of days followed by 4 weeks of nights Patient Ratios Estimated patient ratios are 1:1 to 1:2 for optimal patient care. Experience Requirements Minimum of 2 years of Medical ICU experience EPIC experience is required Certifications BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) AHA Certifications only Skills Required Proficient in IV start Experience with telemetry Competency with ventilators Preferred Qualifications Previous travel nursing experience Proficiency in EPIC documentation system Specialized Experience Multisystem Organ Failure Respiratory Failure COVID-19 Sepsis Post-Cardiac Arrest Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) Liver Failure Renal Failure Special Procedures/Unit Details Continuous Glucose Monitoring for Hyperglycemia Externalized IV Pumps for COVID+ Patients Special Equipment Knowledge NxStage CRRT Alaris IV Pump GE Cardiac Monitor GE Ventilator Boom Lift in Each Patient Room Parking Options Available parking options include: Monthly Permit: Includes guaranteed 24/7 parking in the designated garage.
