The role involves working in a fast-paced environment with both day and night shifts available, based on departmental needs. Patient Care Overview The focus of care will be on adults and geriatric patients, handling a variety of complex medical conditions including: Oncologic Emergencies Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Pneumonia Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) Gastrointestinal Bleed Neuromuscular Disease Drug Overdose Consequences of Oncologic Treatment Pulmonary Hypertension Autoimmune Disorders Sepsis Unit Details and Responsibilities This role requires expertise in managing hemodynamically compromised patients. Common responsibilities include: Mechanical Ventilation Pulmonary Artery Catheter Placement Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Arterial Pressure Monitoring Cardiac Monitoring Chest Tubes and Central Venous Catheters Chemotherapy Administration Complex Medication Regimens Active Participation in Clinical Trials Plasmapheresis Many patients will also require bronchoscopy or endoscopy due to underlying pulmonary and gastrointestinal conditions. Qualifications Candidates must possess the following certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Basic Life Support (BLS) National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Required Skills Essential skills for this position include: Ventilator Management IV Starts Charting Requirements Familiarity with computerized charting systems, particularly EPIC, is required for this role.
