Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a specialty in Medical-Surgical to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment. This position requires flexibility as the nurse will float across multiple locations when scheduled. Shift and Schedule Schedule: Monday to Friday, Nights Shifts: 3x12 hour shifts, totaling 36 hours/week Weekend Requirements: Every third weekend Holiday Requirements: Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming Winter holidays unless the unit is closed Unit Information Bed Size: 30 beds Patient Types: Medical-surgical, post-operative, and spine care Drips: Heparin Nurse to Patient Ratio: Days 1:5, Nights 1:6 Scrubs: Navy Blue, solids Qualifications Minimum of 24 months of Medical-Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting Strong experience with heparin No first-time travelers; must have at least 3 months of current travel experience within the past 12 months Experience in post-operative care and spine care is required Proficient in EPIC electronic medical records Current and active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license Certifications Required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross If you meet the qualifications and are ready to take on the challenges of this dynamic role, we encourage you to apply and become a part of our dedicated nursing team.
