Registered Nurse (RN) Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medical Oncology and Benign Hematology unit. This position offers an opportunity to care for patients throughout their cancer journey, including new diagnoses, treatment, and end-of-life care. Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with various solid tumor cancers. Assist in the monitoring and administration of antineoplastic chemotherapy. Implement infection prevention protocols and fall prevention measures. Float to other Medical Surgical Oncology units as required. Patient Population The focus is on caring for adult and geriatric patients diagnosed with: Breast Cancer Lung Cancer Prostate Cancer Pancreatic Cancer Colon Cancer Esophageal Cancer Qualifications 2 years of nursing experience required. Valid BLS certification is required. Experience in telemetry interpretation and monitoring is essential. ONS Chemotherapy certification is preferred. Staffing Information Staffing ratios aim for 1:4 but may be adjusted to 1:5 based on unit needs. Variable weekend scheduling based on unit requirements. No set or blocked scheduling for permanent staff. Charting System Knowledge of computerized charting using EPIC is preferred. Parking Information Agency staff have several parking permit options available: WMC Monthly Permit for 24/7 access to the garage. WB and CXS Annual Permits for access to various lot locations. Refunds may be available for unused future months on annual permits, subject to specific conditions. Final Notes Previous travel experience is preferred but not required.
