Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description Palliative care focuses on providing relief from the side effects of serious illness. This unit is dedicated to symptom management for patients undergoing treatment who may experience uncontrolled pain, severe nausea and vomiting, failure to thrive, fatigue, and other related issues, promoting a better quality of life. Responsibilities Provide specialized nursing care to patients in a palliative care setting. Manage symptoms effectively to enhance the patient’s quality of life. Transition between units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans. Maintain up-to-date documentation in the electronic health record (EPIC). Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Previous travel nursing experience is preferred. EPIC experience is required. Additional Information This position requires flexibility in scheduling, as applicants may be assigned to days, nights, or a combination depending on departmental needs. Shift assignments will be reviewed every four weeks, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities.
