Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Oncology Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical Oncology team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to patients with various solid tumor cancers throughout their treatment journey, including new diagnosis, treatment, and end-of-life care. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients, focusing on infection prevention and patient safety. Administer antineoplastic chemotherapy and monitor patient responses. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Perform telemetry interpretation and monitoring as required. Support patients during their transitions through treatment and palliative care. Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required, preferably in oncology or a related field. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred. Patient Population Adult patients Geriatric patients Unit Details The unit provides care for patients with a variety of oncology diagnoses, including but not limited to: Breast Cancer Lung Cancer Prostate Cancer Pancreatic Cancer Colon Cancer Esophageal Cancer Scheduling Staffing ratios aim for 1:4 but can be 1:5, with variable weekend shifts based on unit needs. There is no set or blocked scheduling available, and availability to float to other MedSurg Oncology units is required. Charting System Experience with EPIC computerized charting is preferred.
