Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Information Mixed acuity PCU/MS Tele unit caring for medical oncology patients Approximately 24 beds for PCU and 24 beds for MS Tele Schedule If you accept a rotating contract of 12-hour day and night shifts, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, based on departmental needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every four weeks, but changes are not guaranteed and depend on staffing priorities. Patient Diagnoses Care is provided for a variety of diagnoses, including solid tumors and some blood cancers, with a focus on a high acuity patient population. While chemotherapy competence is not required, support and professional development opportunities are available, including a two-day chemotherapy course for those interested. Special Procedures/Unit Details Pediatric patients are rarely cared for on this unit and would likely be managed by permanent staff. Pediatric experience is not required for agency RNs. Emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention measures.
