Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description This position focuses on providing palliative care, emphasizing relief from the side effects of serious illness. The unit is dedicated to symptom management for patients undergoing treatment, addressing issues such as uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue to enhance their quality of life. Responsibilities Administer comprehensive nursing care to patients in a palliative care setting. Assess and manage pain, nausea, and other symptoms of serious illnesses. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to implement effective treatment plans. Educate patients and families on care options and symptom management strategies. Support patients in achieving a better quality of life during their treatment. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory. Previous experience in travel nursing is preferred. Proficient in using EPIC electronic health record system. Must be flexible to float within units of equivalent or lower levels of acuity. Schedule This position may include rotating shifts between days, nights, or a combination of both, based on department needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every four-week scheduling period, but changes may vary according to staffing requirements.
