Registered Nurse Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our oncology team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong passion for patient care, particularly for those undergoing treatment for solid tumor cancers. Experience in oncology is preferred but not required. Responsibilities The Registered Nurse will be responsible for: Providing high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with various types of cancer, including breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers. Administering antineoplastic chemotherapy and managing related patient needs. Assisting patients throughout the spectrum of their cancer journey, including new diagnoses, treatment plans, and end-of-life care. Implementing infection prevention protocols and ensuring patient safety to minimize falls and other incidents. Monitoring telemetry and interpreting telemetry readings as part of patient assessments. Floating to other medical-surgical oncology units as required by staffing needs. Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements: Must hold a valid nursing license and possess at least 2 years of nursing experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills are necessary. ONS Chemotherapy certification is preferred. Previous travel nursing experience is advantageous. Scheduling and Shift Details This position involves a 12-hour rotating contract with potential scheduling for days, nights, or a combination of both based on departmental needs. Changes to shift assignments will be reviewed every four weeks but are not guaranteed.
