Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Oncology Position Overview This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Oncology, responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients diagnosed with a variety of solid tumor cancers. Nurses will engage with patients throughout their journey, from diagnosis and treatment to end-of-life care. A strong emphasis is placed on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention. Key Responsibilities Caring for patients with a range of diagnoses, including but not limited to: Breast Cancer Lung Cancer Prostate Cancer Pancreatic Cancer Colon Cancer Esophageal Cancer Support for antineoplastic chemotherapy Maintaining a patient-staff ratio of 1:4, with possible adjustments to 1:5 based on unit needs. Demonstrating flexibility through floating to other Medical Surgical Oncology units as required. Implementing and adhering to infection prevention and patient safety protocols. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required. Experience in oncology preferred but not mandatory. Ability to interpret telemetry and monitor patient status effectively. Required Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Preferred Certifications ONS Chemotherapy Certification Additional Information Previous travel experience is preferred for candidates. The position requires flexibility with scheduling, as there are no set or blocked schedules available for permanent staff. Charting will be performed using EPIC electronic medical record system.
