Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Overview The position involves working on a medical-surgical oncology unit with a focus on providing high-quality patient care. The majority of patients are admitted with continuous cardiac monitoring needs related to chemotherapy administration, as well as soft tissue malignancies requiring diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with oncological conditions, focusing on symptom management and comorbidity management. Implement heavy infection prevention protocols and monitor patient safety to reduce fall risks. Utilize telemetry monitoring systems to track patient vitals and intervene as necessary. Specialized Equipment B450 monitors – GE telemetry system Bladder scanners Alaris pumps Stryker beds Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required BCLS certification required Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 Previous travel experience preferred EPIC system experience is required Required Skills Interpretation of dysrhythmias Accessing ports Arterial line management Blood product administration Central line care and management PICC line management IV starts Assistance with chest tube insertion and removal High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) Parking Options Agency staff have the following parking permit options available for purchase: WMC Monthly Permit: 24/7 access to the designated garage.
