Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Observation Unit specializing in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry care. This position offers an opportunity to provide high-quality, efficient patient care in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Manage patients in observation status with anticipated short lengths of stay, providing care for conditions such as dehydration, acute kidney injury, urinary tract infections, and post-procedure recovery. Perform telemetry monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias, and start IVs as needed. Assist with chemotherapy and radiation symptom management, palliative care, and transition to hospice. Provide patient education and support for various treatments and procedures, including PEG tube placement. Work collaboratively with unit providers, including Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and supervising physicians. Occasionally float to assist in the Emergency Department with inpatient Med/Surg telemetry patients awaiting transfer. Qualifications Must possess current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Preferred certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN). Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical/surgical or telemetry unit. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4, with support from other registered nurses, patient care assistants, and unit care assistants. Orientation to the observation unit and floated areas will be provided.
