Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Oncology team. This position offers an opportunity to work with patients dealing with various solid tumor cancers throughout their cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment to palliative care. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients diagnosed with various types of cancer, including but not limited to breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers. Administer antineoplastic chemotherapy and monitor patient's response to treatment. Ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols and minimize patient fall risks. Manage and address medical-surgical issues in oncology patients. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required. Preferred experience in oncology nursing, but not required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills are required. ONS Chemotherapy certification is preferred. Work Environment Staffing ratios aim for 1:4, but may occasionally reach 1:5. Variable weekend scheduling based on unit needs; no set or blocked scheduling available for permanent staff. Floating to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units as needed. Charting System Utilize EPIC for computerized charting.
