Registered Nurse (RN) Department RN Medical / Surgical/ Telemetry Skills and Certifications BLS ACLS 8 Hours of Stroke Training State License Verification Responsibilities and Expectations Perform and document frequent neurological assessments, including the NIH Stroke Scale. Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, responding to changes in real time. Ensure compliance with stroke core measures, including dysphagia screening, patient education, and care plans. Administer medications following BCMA standards with a strong focus on safety and accuracy. Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team, including providers, therapy, and case management. Manage patient admissions, discharges, and overall patient flow in a high-turnover environment. Maintain a constant focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and overall patient safety. Unit Information The Stroke Telemetry Unit is a high-acuity, fast-paced medical-surgical environment specializing in the care of acute stroke and complex telemetry patients.
