Registered Nurse (RN) Department RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry Required Certifications BLS ACLS 8 Hours of Stroke Training Licensure Valid state nursing license required. Qualifications Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and the ability to read basic rhythm strips prior to employment. Unit Overview The Stroke Telemetry Unit is a high-acuity, fast-paced medical-surgical environment specializing in the care of acute stroke and complex telemetry patients. This 34-bed unit is designed to deliver evidence-based, protocol-driven care with a strong emphasis on patient safety, rapid intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities & Expectations Perform and document frequent neurological assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale. Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, responding to changes in real time. Ensure compliance with stroke core measures, including dysphagia screening, education, and care plans. Administer medications using BCMA standards with a focus on safety and accuracy. Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team, including providers, therapy, and case management. Manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a high-turnover environment. Maintain a constant focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and overall patient safety. PK-38687675
