Registered Nurse (RN) Position Overview This role involves the essential responsibility of providing high-quality patient care within a supportive and dynamic environment. The Registered Nurse will engage in a variety of clinical tasks, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care tailored to individual needs, employing age-specific criteria throughout all processes. Key Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care following standardized procedures. Employ scientific knowledge and clinical skills for effective decision-making. Assist in directing and educating non-RN staff, including LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries. Maintain strong communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Recognize and respond to changes in patient status, ensuring timely interventions. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med Surg/Telemetry setting. Proficiency with cardiac medications such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex, including knowledge of titration and application. Competence in telemetry monitoring and an understanding of heart rhythms. Critical thinking skills to assess and intervene appropriately in evolving patient conditions. Familiarity with stroke signs and symptoms for immediate recognition and intervention. Excellent communication skills to facilitate effective interactions with diverse stakeholders. Certification Requirements Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Active ACLS certification from the American Heart Association. Active NIHSS certification. Work Schedule This position entails a 12-hour night shift, with a commitment to working every other weekend. The individual may be required to float to various units as needed, provided they possess the requisite skills for those areas.
