Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This role requires a strong foundation in patient care, particularly in monitoring and managing patients with various cardiac and pulmonary conditions. Job Responsibilities Provide nursing care for patients in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting. Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and respond to patient changes effectively. Utilize Rapid Response Teams as necessary to ensure patient safety. Perform phlebotomy and intravenous (IV) placements as required. Administer oxygen therapy via nasal cannula or face masks and manage portable oxygen tanks. Maintain standards of care including isolation precautions and patient safety protocols. Utilize bladder scanners, telemetry devices, EKG machines, and lifepacks. Requirements Years of Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar nursing role. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Floating Requirements: Must be able to float within scope to meet facility needs, including to units such as ED boarders, stable ICU patients, medical-surgical, and acute brain injury. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend commitment is required. RTO Restrictions: Only one week of time off will be allowed during the course of the contract. Locals: Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted for this position. Pending Licenses: Applications with pending licenses are not accepted. Schedule This position requires a night shift commitment, working three 12-hour shifts per week. Preferred Skills Familiarity with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system is preferred. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role. Patient Population The RN will be responsible for caring for patients with diagnoses including cardiac and pulmonary conditions, gastrointestinal issues, infections, and unmanaged diabetes mellitus (DM). Scrub Color Any combination of navy and white scrubs is acceptable.
