Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Nurse Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Nurse to join our high-volume unit. The ideal candidate will be required to float between units and take on a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients primarily dealing with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), acute Myocardial Infarctions (MI), post-device care (such as pacemakers), and patients experiencing arrhythmias. Care for general surgery patients, including those undergoing procedures related to colon and rectal surgery, ostomies, and plastic, cosmetic, and breast reconstruction. Utilize EPIC for patient charting and documentation. Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry setting. Valid New York State nursing license is mandatory. Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) are required; please include valid NIHSS certification in submission. This position requires floating between different units as needed. Must reside more than 75 miles from the work location. Unit Details This unit consists of 26 beds, focusing primarily on high-acuity cardiovascular patients. A 51-bed unit specifically caring for general surgery patients across various specialties. Additional Information Scrub colors for this position can be any combination of navy and white.
