Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description As a valued member of an interdisciplinary team, the healthcare professional will utilize their clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care for patients. This role includes the following responsibilities: Manage and deliver care to patients on a medical/surgical and telemetry unit, including post-operative patients requiring overnight stays. Administer various drips, such as Heparin, and provide comprehensive monitoring and support for patients. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care. Participate actively in patient assessments and document care in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, specifically EPIC. Float to other medical/surgical/telemetry units as required. Shift Details 0700 start time with either 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend shift is required. No on-call duties are required. Orientation Dates November 9 November 23 December 7 Holiday Requirements The traveler will be expected to work two of the following three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. There is a limit of one day off request between November 25-29 and December 23-27 for all travelers. Unit Information On the unit, healthcare professionals will encounter a range of surgical patients, including those recovering from procedures such as prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgeries, and thyroidectomy. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience is required. Proficiency with the EPIC EMR system is required. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Active BLS and NIHSS certifications are mandatory. A valid nursing license must be maintained and the Nursys must indicate an active Iowa or compact nursing license. Travelers may be asked to float within the same discipline in the region. Dress Code All staff are required to wear navy blue attire.
