Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description As a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, the traveler contributes professional and clinical expertise in the provision and management of patient care. This position requires the ability to float to various units, including Med Surg, Telemetry, and Intensive Care. Shift Notes The typical shift begins at 1900. The nurse will float to the following units: 3A 4A 5A ICU/Flex Weekend Requirements Every other weekend availability is required. Holiday Requirements Travelers must be available to work during the winter holidays, specifically two out of the following three holidays: Thanksgiving Christmas Day New Year's Day Request for time off is limited between the following dates: November 25 - November 29 December 23 - December 27 Qualifications 2+ years of Med Surg/Tele experience is required. Experience with drips such as heparin, PCAs, epidurals, diltiazem, nitroglycerin, and amiodarone is required. Comfort in reading and interpreting telemetry strips is required. First-time travelers are encouraged to apply. The traveler may float within the same discipline across local facilities. Certification Requirements Active ACLS certification Active BLS certification Active NIHSS certification Licensure Requirements Applicants must possess an active nursing license in Iowa or a compact nursing license.
