Registered Nurse (RN) Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med Surg/Telemetry to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will utilize their professional and clinical skills to contribute to the provision and management of patient care. Shift Information 0700 start time 36 or 48 hours per week available Floating to other Med Surg/Telemetry units required Every other weekend commitment No on-call responsibilities Unit Description The unit handles a variety of patient cases, including but not limited to: Prostatectomies Mastectomies Abdominal surgeries Thyroidectomies Registered Nurses will manage post-operative patients requiring overnight stays, and may administer drips such as Heparin. Orientation Dates 11/9 11/23 12/7 Winter Holiday Requirements Traveling staff will be required to work 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day), with a limit of 1 day off request between November 25-29 and December 23-27. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically EPIC First-time travelers are welcome Ability to float within the same discipline across local units as needed Mandatory Certifications Current BLS certification (AHA preferred) Active NIHSS certification Licensure Requirements Active nursing license from Iowa or compact nursing license Dress Code The dress code for this position is navy blue attire.
