Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description As a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse contributes professional and clinical knowledge and skills to the provision and management of patient care. This role involves working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of care for patients. Shift Details Start Time: 1900 Available Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week Floating to other medical/surgical telemetry units may be required Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend No on-call requirements Orientation Dates November 9 November 23 December 7 Holiday Requirements The traveler will be required to work two of the three major winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. There is a limitation of one day off request between November 25-29 and December 23-27 for all travelers. Unit Details The unit provides care for a variety of patients, including those undergoing surgical procedures such as prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgeries, and thyroidectomy. Nurses will administer drips such as heparin and manage post-operative patients who require overnight stays. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med Surg/Telemetry Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC First-time travelers are welcome to apply Willingness to float within the same discipline across local locations as needed Certification Requirements Active BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates accepted) Active NIHSS certification Licensure Requirements Applicants must possess an active Iowa or compact nursing license.
