Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description As a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse will leverage professional and clinical expertise to provide comprehensive care and manage the treatment of patients. This role involves collaboration with various healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Shift Details Start time: 1900 Available schedules: 36 or 48 hours per week Float required to other medical/surgical telemetry units as needed Weekend requirements: Every other weekend Holiday Requirements Travelers are required to work two of the three designated winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. A maximum of one day off request will be allowed between November 25-29 and December 23-27 for all travelers. Unit Details Types of patients/surgeries include: prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgeries, thyroidectomy, and more. Administration of drips such as Heparin. General medical/surgical floor caring for post-operative patients requiring overnight stays. Qualifications Minimum of two years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience required. Certification Requirements Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Active National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification Profile Requirements Comprehensive work history Skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Telemetry One supervisory reference form completed within the last two years Active Iowa nursing license or compact nursing license Driver’s license Orientation Date Orientation is scheduled for December 7.
