Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description As a key member of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse contributes professional clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients. Shift Notes 0700 start 36 or 48 hours per week available Floating to other medical/surgical telemetry units is required Weekend Requirements Every other weekend availability is required. Orientation Date Orientation is scheduled for 12/21. Holiday Availability The traveler will be required to work two out of three winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day). A limit of one day off request will be accepted between 11/25-11/29 and 12/23-12/27 for all travelers. Unit Details The 8SE Unit manages a variety of patient types, including: Prostatectomy Mastectomy Abdominal surgeries Thyroidectomy This is a general medical/surgical floor focused on post-operative patients requiring overnight stays, with the administration of drips such as Heparin. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience required Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system required First-time travelers are welcome Ability to float within the same discipline across multiple locations is expected Certification Requirements Active BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates accepted) Active NIHSS certification Licensing Requirements Must possess an active Iowa or compact nursing license. Dress Code The dress code is navy blue attire. Employee Separation Policy Past employees of the organization are ineligible to work in travel positions within another market if they have previously worked in any capacity within the last 12 months.
