Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse contributes professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients. This role involves close collaboration with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure high standards of patient care. Shift Notes Start time: 1900 Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week available Floating to other med/surg tele units may be required Weekend requirements: Every other weekend On-call requirements: None Unit Details Patient types and surgeries include: prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgeries, and thyroidectomy. Administered drips include Heparin. The unit functions as a general medical/surgical floor, caring for post-operative patients requiring overnight stays. Orientation Dates November 9 November 23 December 7 Winter Holidays The traveler will be required to work two of the following three holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. A limit of one day off request is permitted between November 25-29 and December 23-27 for all travelers. Certification Requirements Active BLS certification (AHA preferred; will also accept ARC or US Military certificates) Active NIHSS certification Profile Requirements Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg/Tele experience is required. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Travelers may be asked to float within the same discipline across local locations. Work history is required. A skills checklist specific to the Med Surg/Tele discipline is required. One supervisory reference form completed within the last two years. Nursys must indicate an active Iowa or compact nursing license. Driver's license is needed. Additional Requirements Applicants should note that any past employee will not be eligible for travel roles in the same market or other locations if they have worked travel within the last 12 months.
