Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the traveler will contribute professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients. Shift Notes Start time: 1900 Full-time: 36 or 48 hours per week available Floating to other medical/surgical telemetry units may be required Every other weekend availability is required No on-call requirements Orientation Dates 12/7 Winter Holiday Availability Travelers will be required to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day). There is a limit of 1 day off request between November 25-29 and December 23-27 for all travelers. Unit Details The unit handles a variety of patient types and surgical procedures including, but not limited to: Prostatectomy Mastectomy Abdominal surgeries Thyroidectomy This is a general medical/surgical floor focused on caring for post-operative patients requiring overnight stays. Patient Care Responsibilities The traveler will administer various drips, including Heparin, in a supportive role for the recovery of patients. Qualifications A minimum of 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience is required. First-time travelers are welcome. Travelers may be asked to float within the same discipline across local facilities. Required Certifications Active BLS certification (AHA Preferred; will also accept ARC or US Military certificates) Active NIHSS certification License Requirements An active nursing license for Iowa or a compact nursing license is required. Additional Requirements Valid driver's license Work history documentation Skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Telemetry One supervisory reference form completed within the last two years PK-38675592
