Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse contributes professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients. The role requires flexibility to float to other medical-surgical telemetry units as necessary. Shift Details Shift starts at 1900 Options for 36 or 48 hours per week Every other weekend commitment required No on-call responsibilities Orientation Dates November 9 November 23 December 7 Winter Holiday Requirements Travelers will be expected to work 2 of the following 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. There is a limit of 1 day off request within the periods of November 25-29 and December 23-27 for all travelers. Unit Details Patient Types: Prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgeries, thyroidectomy, etc. Drips Administered: Heparin General medical/surgical floor caring for post-operative patients requiring overnight stays Qualifications 2+ years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience required First-time travelers are welcome Ability to float within the same discipline across local units may be required Active Iowa nursing license or compact nursing license required Current BLS certification (AHA preferred) Active NIHSS certification required Driver's license required Employee Separation Policy Any past employee of the float pool cannot work travel in another market for a period of 12 months, with certain exceptions for previous travel roles.
