Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Position Overview This position involves working in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU), providing critical care to patients with neurological conditions. The role requires expertise in both patient assessment and management of complex neurocritical conditions. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Neuro ICU. Monitor and manage patients' vital signs and neurological status. Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of ventilators and intracranial pressure monitoring equipment. Administer IV medications and perform IV starts as necessary. Utilize telemetry for continuous patient monitoring. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting, with a focus on neurocritical care. Previous travel nursing experience preferred. Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only). Proficiency in IV start, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure monitoring. Experience using Epic electronic medical record systems. Scheduling Requirements This position involves a 36-hour work week with mandatory night shifts, specifically three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30). Weekend shifts include Friday and Saturday nights, with Sunday not considered a weekend night. Additional Requirements Floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity may be required based on staffing needs. Parking Options Multiple parking permit options are available for employees.
