Registered Nurse (RN) Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in providing specialized care primarily for adults and geriatric patients diagnosed with acute leukemia. The role requires a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. Implement infection prevention and falls prevention protocols. Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias. Administer IV therapy and manage blood products, including central and peripheral line care. Utilize Rapid Response Teams as needed to address patient concerns. Provide feeding tube care and management. Document patient information using computerized charting systems. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure the best patient outcomes. Shifts Shifts will be scheduled as either: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Rotating contracts may include a combination of day, night, or both shifts based on departmental needs. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of overall acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Preferred certifications: ONS Chemotherapy Certification and NIHSS. Skills Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Rapid Response Team experience. IV therapy and phlebotomy skills. Central line blood draws and PICC line management. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
