Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our healthcare team specializing in acute leukemia and hematology. This role requires a strong background in acute care nursing, with a focus on providing high-quality care to adults and geriatric patients diagnosed with acute leukemia. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. Implement infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention strategies. Monitor telemetry patients and interpret dysrhythmias effectively. Administer IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood products. Manage central and peripheral lines, including PICC line care. Utilize Rapid Response Teams as necessary. Document patient care accurately using electronic charting systems (EPIC). Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year in a progressive care unit (PCU). Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required. ONS Chemotherapy certification and NIHSS certification are preferred but not required. Must possess strong telemetry monitoring skills. Ability to work with a patient care ratio of 1:4, potentially increasing to 1:5 based on unit needs. Work Schedule This position may involve a combination of day and night shifts, based on department requirements. Shift assignments are reviewed every four weeks. Special Notes Weekend scheduling will be variable based on unit needs. A focus will be placed on meeting infection prevention protocols and preventing patient falls.
