This position requires the flexibility to work in a variety of settings, providing high-quality patient care across multiple locations. The Float Pool RN will be responsible for delivering nursing care to patients in critical and post-critical situations while collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Assist in patient assessments, care planning, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes in patient conditions. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to protocols. Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EPIC). Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes. Float to other OSU-affiliated hospitals as required. Participate in weekend rotations as needed. Qualifications Current RN licensure. Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers are welcomed. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required. Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring. Experience with EPIC electronic health records system is mandatory. Work Schedule This position requires night shifts of 3-12 hours each, with a commitment of 36 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary to meet the demands of the Float Pool.
